Soleil is the first Laurentius single with Nigerian artist Ọké (Khalid Ọké), based in Luxembourg, released on 12 July 2019 through Diepgraven. It is often described as a modern, worldly take on Bob Sinclar's Love Generation.
The record defined Ọké's career at a moment he had almost stopped singing, and began a lasting collaboration and friendship between the two. Exotic, happy and unmistakably Laurentius.
This is where the Laurentius and Ọké story begins. Ọké is a Nigerian singer based in Luxembourg who had nearly walked away from music before this record; today he is a celebrated artist there, with his story featured on RTL Lux. Soleil, a worldly reimagining of Bob Sinclar's Love Generation, launched a lasting friendship and one of Laurentius's most important collaborations.
