Part 1 · Terms of use
Who runs this site
laurentiusmusic.com is run by Lars Jacob Beerda, trading as Laurentius, in Zwolle, the Netherlands. KvK 88334600.
Using the site
Browse, read and share links as much as you like. Please do not copy the design or the code, scrape it in bulk, or try to break it.
Music, photos and text
The music, artwork, photographs, logos and writing here belong to me or to the labels and photographers I work with. Sharing links is always fine. Reusing audio, images or copy commercially is not, unless you have written permission. For press, email info@laurentiusmusic.com. I will usually say yes and send you better files than the ones on this page.
An enquiry is not a booking
Sending an enquiry through this site starts a conversation. It is not a booking and it commits neither of us to anything.
A booking or a studio project is agreed only once we both sign a separate written agreement covering the fee, the date, the scope and the terms. Nothing on this website replaces that agreement, and nothing on this website is an offer you can simply accept.
Prices
Any prices shown are indicative starting points in euros and exclude VAT (BTW) where it applies. The price for your project is the one written into your agreement.
Links out
This site links to other places: Spotify, Apple Music, Wikidata, my studio at CUE Sound, and more. I do not control them and I am not responsible for what they contain or how they handle privacy.
No warranty, and limits
I keep this site accurate and available as best I can, but I do not guarantee it is error-free or never down. So far as the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death, personal injury, intent or gross negligence.
Your privacy
How I handle personal data is set out in the Privacy Notice.
Consumers
If you are a consumer you keep every right Dutch and EU consumer law gives you. Nothing in these terms takes any of that away.
Law
Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, without affecting a consumer's right to bring proceedings where they live.
Changes
I may update these terms. The version that applies is the one published here on the day you use the site.
Part 2 · Privacy notice
This explains what happens to your personal data when you visit laurentiusmusic.com or get in touch. It is written to be read, not to be survived. It covers the whole site, so there is no separate notice per form.
Who is responsible
Laurentius is the artist name of Lars Jacob Beerda, based in Zwolle, the Netherlands. I am the controller for the data described here.
- Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 88334600
- VAT (BTW): NL004587803B30

- Demos: demos@laurentiusmusic.com
What I collect, and why
Booking and studio enquiries
Through the forms on the bookings and services pages, or by emailing me directly, I receive your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to tell me about the event or the project. That usually means a date, a city or venue, and a short description.
I use it to answer you, to quote for the work, and where it goes ahead, to carry it out. The legal basis is performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering one (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), together with my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries about my work (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Demos
If you email demos@laurentiusmusic.com I receive your message, your audio and any details you include. I use it to listen and reply, nothing else. There is a separate note on demos further down.
Visiting the site
I use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It only runs if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. Decline, and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
I also use Ahrefs Web Analytics. That one is cookieless, sets nothing on your device and does not follow you across other sites, so it runs without consent.
Who else sees it
The list is short on purpose.
| Who | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Website hosting | EU and US |
| Analytics, if you accept | US | |
| Ahrefs | Cookieless statistics | EU |
| My email provider | Receiving and storing messages | EU or US |
| My invoicing and bookkeeping provider | Invoices, where work goes ahead | EU |
I do not sell your data and I do not share it for advertising.
Transfers outside the EEA
Some of those services sit in the United States. Where data reaches them, the transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU to US Data Privacy Framework, or on Standard Contractual Clauses where that decision does not apply.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: 24 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Bookings and projects that go ahead: for the length of the work, then as long as Dutch tax law requires. That is 7 years for anything touching an invoice.
- Demos: 12 months, unless we start working together.
- Analytics: 14 months, per the setting in Google Analytics.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit what I do with it, or to hand it to someone else. You can object to processing that runs on legitimate interest. Where something runs on consent, cookies for instance, you can withdraw it whenever you like, and that does not undo what happened before you withdrew it.
Email info@laurentiusmusic.com and I will come back to you within a month.
If you are unhappy with how I handle it, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. You can also complain to the authority where you live.
Demos, one honest note
I get a lot of music, and similar ideas reach me from different people all the time. Sending a demo does not create a confidential relationship and does not put any obligation on me, and it gives you no claim over work I make independently. What I will not do is pass your demo to anyone else without asking you first.
Automated decisions
None. Nothing here profiles you and nothing decides anything about you automatically.
Do you have to give me your data?
No. But without your name, your email and some idea of what you need, I cannot answer your enquiry.
Changes
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything material gets flagged on the site.
